Channel Challenge
The 2011 Swan Centre for Leisure Channel Swim Challenge drew to a close with swimmers raising a total of £638 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. The Challenge consisted of participants swimming 1418 lengths of the 25 metre swimming pool which is the equivalent of 22 miles, the same distance from England to France via the Channel.
We will again be hosting the Channel Challenge next year and as an added bonus, we will also be holding a Junior Channel Challenge too.
Facility Manager Darren Humphrey was on hand to present the cheque to former Mayoress, Jennifer Waterhouse who chose Breakthrough Breast Cancer as the charity she supported during her time in office.
